  It’s evident from the way that Jonathan Edwards commands the stage that he’s been playing for many many years, and the way that he performs with such ease and confidence whilst working through his folk tunes is a real sign of his genuine talent and skill. He realised from his youth that his career had the potential of taking off, when he was offered residencies at local clubs and bars playing his rock, folk, and blues music. After working with bands and also as a solo artist, he decided that solo work would be more enjoyable and fruitful for his career.

  He opened the show with his track Sailboat from around the middle of his career, and took some time introducing himself and the band, letting us all know in the crowd that he wanted us to have a great night. He opened his track Lucky Day with a few short chords on the guitar, and then a solo on his harmonica, where he totally captivated the audience, holding everyone in absolute silence. He played a great selection of tracks, from his work back in the early 70s, right up to My Love Will Keep, just a few years ago in 2011. The show was incredible, and the energy electric. I’d definitely go and see him perform again, a really spectacular show.

• Overall, a very good show- Exactly what I was expecting.

  I appreciated the way he was upfront with the audience- saying, I know you want to hear some of the old stuff, but as an artist, I have to move on, so here is some of my new stuff.

  Pretty good mix of old and new. (Didn't play Emma?)

  Decent story telling and comments. Wasn't in a rush

  Guitar work pretty darn good- I felt sound mix in the theater was not up to par.

  I was disappointed on the size of the crowd, my estimate at 125 tops. There is no counting for good taste anymore.

  I felt we were lucky to see an artist that has contributed so much to the history of progressive folk.

• Absolutely Awesome!!! He was funny, personable, played great, sang lots of favs (although I wish there had been a few more from his first album... "Everybody Knows Her, Athens County, Train of Glory"), but all in all, a great concert!

• Fantastic show! I think his voice and music just keep getting better over the years. And what a treat to see him in a small intimate venue like Eddie's Attic in Decatur GA. A Legend in the music business.....
