  • Buckethead

Electrifying!! Buckethead is a KICK ASS Guitarist! Bucket does a solid 1 1/2 hour show. He keeps his mask on, and does not speak at all to the audience.

Bucket does involve his fans 1/2 way through his performance, he has "Toy Time". He has a large bag filled with toys. He loves Disney and Horror, so the toys are fantasy, sci-fi and horror related(I personally have received R2D2 toy, Pikacho toy and a bloody gel hand). He also does a dance, robotic like and with Nunchucks. After "Toy Time", fans are allowed to hit the killswitch on his guitar as he holds it in front of those who are lucky enough to be in the front of the stage.

This genius is lyrical in his playing. Avant-garde, experimental metal, progressive rock, progressive metal, thrash, metal, blugrass, jazz fusion, He has some songs that are just "rocking" and others that are comforting. He is in so many bands, The Frankenstein Brothers is a favorite of mine.

  • Buckethead is a master at his craft. The speed at that his brain processes is truely robotic. He can switch keys in an instant and entire gennres in a second. He is synced perfectly to the backing drums and can shred effortlessly.

I'm not here to review the artists but I'm here to review the concert.

He started 45 minutes later than posted and didn't stop for another 45 min. He did this segment where he grabbed a sack and gave small toys and trinkets to the people in the front row (He wont throw them to the people in the back) while a remix of skrillex was booming throughout the room. This got repetitive fast because of the speed he moved at.

He then played for another hour and a half.

As I am typing this, I can still hear the ringing in my ears. So if you have sensitive ears like I do, it's probably a good idea to bring plugs.

  • Simply put, the Buckethead concert I attended in Raleigh last night was probably one of the most amazing performances I've every experienced. I have some Buckethead's albums - some I love, others I can't quite connect with. But I totaled connected with everything he played - it all worked and made sense. Maybe that's the difference with a live performance.

Sometimes when you attended a concert, you get the feeling that the musician is up on the stage making the music, and you're off somewhere in the audience as a nameless face. But with Buckethead, he performed as if he was sharing every note with the audience.

The response from the audience, in those rare moments when he actually took a break, was loud and enthusiastic. I think everybody left the Lincoln Theater feeling like they had witnessed something very special.

  • Wow! This was my 1st Buckethead show and I wasn't disappointed! I don't know if this concert was normal for him, but it was kinda like guitar karaoke - Buckethead played live to recorded tracks of his music. I really loved the humor - he played little riffs of famous songs: country oldies, Fleetwood Mac, Orleans, the Star Wars theme. He's a real virtuoso, using his guitar in experimental ways to create different soundscapes. As expected, he passed out toys and let audience members play with his guitar. Midway thru Buckethead took a 20 min break, making the show (which started around 30 minutes late) about 2 hours. Even though it was a drag to stand for 3 hours, the energy was really high and everyone was rockin' the entire time.

  • I saw Buckethead in Maryland April 6 2019, he put on an Awsome show !!!!! He's one of the best Guitarist in the World, he played all of my Favorite songs. His Guitar playing is amazing !!! We had "toy time", half way thru the show, where he gives away some Toys (he grew up near DisneyLand, and it's still in his blood), then he went back to playing songs. He played some Star Wars music, and some other songs and added awsome sound effects. I throughly enjoyed Bucketheads show, it was my 1st one, would I go to another show of his ? Yesss !!!!! He's Awsome !!!! He is my Favorite Guitarist. :)

  • This was the first BH show I've seen since he went public about his illness. I was excited to see him, but worried he wouldn't have the same playing stamina he used to.

Fortunately I was wrong. Buckethead is still the same old shredding machine he's always been. This actually might have been my favorite show of his yet. He played all my favorite hits and even threw a few new covers in there. He's still the same incredible performer he's always been.

I've been going to his shows for the past 15 years and will continue to be there as long as his robot gears are still turning.

  • It was a fun show! For $30.00, I got to see Bucket play while I was standing right in front of the stage. Bucket is an excellent composer and probably the best technical player I've had the pleasure of seeing. He distributed toys to the audience. At one point, he began playing Giant Robot, one-handed, while he simultaneously held a Giant Robot action figure. During a certain point of the show, Bucket let audience members push the kill switch on his guitar! He is able to express many ranging emotions in his songs--his music moved me. He puts on a great show! Thanks Bucket!

  • his is one of the most amazing nights of my entire life, I mean it. The emotion, energy, and showmanship Buckethead gave to us is something I will NEVER forget...

    It was like a dream..

I didn't get to press his killswitch but Buckethead gave me a starwars toy and not only wore MY BUCKET but gave it back

I will always remember tonight. I got to not only see my idol and inspiration.. I interacted with him and got something to remember the night with.

Thank you Buckethead, thank you so much for everything.

I also bought Pike #8, one of my favorites.

  • This was my first ever Buckethead concert and I was really looking forward to it. I would say it was a bit disappointing. The first half was ok, he played some 3 or 4 good songs. He did spend quite some time distributing toys. It seemed like a good setup for the second half. But the second half was terribly disappointing. He played a few bars of Coma followed by a lot of electronic noise for about 40 mins and then ended with half of Soothsayer. I definitely expected more.
