Being signed to one of the biggest labels in the world, releasing nine studio albums (three of which achieving Platinum status) and twenty-six singles is just where it starts for the Country and Western music heavyweight, Gary Allan.
Having been on the scene for almost twenty years as a fully-fledged recording artist, Gary Allan’s career has earned him some fantastic accolades over time, seeing this recording artist dominate not only the country charts but the Billboard Charts too. Not only this but he has a live show to match, performing with such charisma and conviction.
It all started at home with his parents in La Mirada, California, where his mother would encourage him to play guitars and then at age thirteen when he began playing in honky tonks with his father. He is truly one of those artists who built a career from the ground up, building up his reputation, starting in bars, and then moving on to clubs. His success story is quite something too, as Allan had a job selling cars and left one of his demo cassettes in the glove box of a truck that he sold. Upon realising that Allan was the singer, they wrote him a cheque for $12,000, which funded Allan to journey to Nashville to record some songs that were on an early demo, which caught the attention of some of the biggest labels in the world, and the rest as they say is history.
It’s no wonder that over the years, Allan has been able to maintain such a successful career, which has had some highs and lows with some devastating twists and turns, but he has always come out fighting with his raspy and unpolished sound.
Read moreCountry musician Gary Allan is nearing his twenty year anniversary on the circuit and in that time he has amassed a huge following for his traditional sound that he incorporates with a lean towards the genre of rock. Whilst most country musicians rely on an acoustic, Allan's choice is electric every time and he has some real skill with his instrument.
The way in which he attacks the performance gives his music a far more grunge like effect onstage and the audience react well to this. They remain enthusiastic to Gary's stage chatter between tracks and cheer intently for the opening bars to the singalong hit 'Smoke Rings In The Dark'. He performs a variety of music from across his discography, clearly having preference for 'Every Storm (Runs Out Of Rain)' which his band seem to really enjoy playing live with snarling guitar riffs and great percussion. Allan's rock influence has clearly allowed him to stand out from the overcrowded country market and will see him well into the future as he has clear enjoyment for what he does.
I Told Gary Allan that I would try to see him, where I was here in Maine from Puerto Rico. When I heard that he was going to be in Portland, I just had to go see him. I wanted just wanted to spend some time with him before he was taking off to go to West Virgina. But, I never got to see you Gary. At the Aura, I was looking down from the balcony at you, but there were so many people bigger then me, so I tried my best to use my phone to take pictures, but I could only take a few. Sorry about that. Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Gary Allan is by far the most talented, singer, songwriter around these days.
First heard him on radio and then decided had to see a concert. It was even more exciting than I ever thought it could be. First artist I ever joined a fan club.
His music is so pure and the lyrics relate so much to what most country fans have felt in their lifetime at one time or the other.
Most wonderful experience was attending the annual FCP in Nashville and getting to visit with and have my picture taken. Love GARY ALLAN!
Gary Allan was FABULOUS like is always is in concert. Beware of a few people in this fan club they are rude and verbally and physically pushing people out of the way and yell at security. Gary was great still looks good and sounds good, his band is fantastic. Love seeing him when he comes around.
Gary Allen put on an AWESOME show. My husband was in a car accident a couple weeks ago and broke his back. He was in a wheelchair, and the staff at The Roxy took great care of us! But Gary was DEFINITELY THE BEST! We will go and see him again! Tha is for the great show, oh and I got an guitar pick!!
Not my first Gary Allan concert. Won't be my last either. He gives such a great performance and interacts with his audience. If you have a chance to see him in person, you should attend! Always a class act! Thanks for the memories of December 6, 2014 at DDC Gary! ♥

Fortunately, my husband and I cannot get enough of Gary Allan in concert! 70 shows in 3 years and still have 4 more scheduled this year. Does not matter where the venue is. We have met and started following his various openers as well. All amazing!
Gary was awesome, high energy, interactive, played most of the crowd favorites to include upcoming releases. The venue was just the right size to make it feel like a more personable experience. Awesome show, definitely worth the trip!
