Tournament review

The home team of CA Barcelona, led by GM Pomar, were principal favourites to wear the all-Spanish crown for the second time, and indeed won easily, even though they lost the battle to runners-up Chardenet by 2½ to 1½: Pomar-Torán ½-½, Albareda-Visier ½-½, Anguera-Ramírez 0-1, Beltrán-Crespo ½-½,
As they were in clear 2½ point lead before the match commenced, they finished first at 24½ ahead of Chardenet 23 and Español, who replaced C.M.I.A. took bronze. Yet Barcelona's top board, GM Pomar, scored mere 5/8 and was outpaced by Toran (6½/9) and Mora of Tarrasa (6/9).
