Helenia Colony was the first settlement built outside the Commonwealth, used to increase the few crops that the Republic granaries are low of, namely, carrots and melons. As such, it doesn't have the economic output of other settlements.
Security is minimal, being just a few automated turrets and the local garrison of dedicated Minutemen, connected to the Freedom Network. The colony is surrounded by a high wall topped with barbed wire.
The power is entirely generated through windmills, harnessing the naturally cold and windy environment of Northern Springs. Local technicians maintain these, along with the backup generators, water pumps, sanitation and purification systems.
The old rusty barn has been converted into a makeshift field hospital. While not as advanced as the Institute Field Clinics at FOBs, it gets the job done.
Lastly, when the work day is over, colonists can relax at the local bar, stocked with a wide variety of alcoholic and soft drinks, or play a game of pool or pinball. In the unlikely event of kids visiting, several Giddyup Buttercups are also kept here. Washers and driers are located at both cabins, and a barber keeps everyone trimmed and groomed. Antidepressants are served in the delicious form Happy-Cola.
