Memorial Facilities

The MPVA designates significant buildings, structures and other memorial facilities to honor, remember, and
commemorate the noble contributions patriots and veterans have made to the Republic of Korea. There are many memorial facilities throughout the country. They are classified as “independence movement memorial facilities” and “national defense memorial facilities.” Independence movement memorial facilities commemorate Korea's independence movements against Japanese colonial rule. National defense memorial facilities commemorate the Korean War.
