Hello everyone,
I cannot believe it has been over two years since I released this. It has gone by so quickly. Furthermore, who could have foreseen the challenges and hardship this year would bring us all. I sincerely hope you are all managing okay. At the very least, things appear to be slowly improving on the whole and hopefully we are going to start seeing a brighter time ahead of us.
I still get feedback and praise about Echoes on almost a daily basis and I just wanted to make a post to thank you all for that. You all have helped lift my spirits during tough times!
Also, who could have ever imagined a new Half-Life title finally being released after so long!!! It is absolutely incredible by the way, for those of you lucky enough to have experienced it. Valve are back, and I missed them.
I have just released the source code and map files for version 1.4 as a few people had requested it - I hope you find it useful in some way.
Lastly, people have asked if I will do more modding in the future. I do have a lot of great ideas milling around, and hope to one day realise them, but being a parent takes a lot out of you! It is wonderful and exhausting, haha. I cannot wait to get my son into Half-Life but it may be some time yet...

I am playing Echoes again and I am asking to myself, how did you do all those amazing facial animations? and the ones that emulated someone been push by an enemy? Did you use something from the ps2 version of HL? I think that there the npcs looks more close to the ones that you used here.
EDIT: Did you use Goldscr or that engine that is very similar but superior in some aspects like the lights?
I also want to say that I cant belive how fantastic looks your mod! and you use the lore in a very exquisite way! Since you release it I think that is this one of the best mods ever release for Half-Life 1 or even the best, really amazing work! I hope that you do more mods in the future!

After 5 years, this mod is still my favourite Half Life 1 mod of all time. Yes, I dare say it is even better than field intensity. The way it looks, the level design, and some of its new concepts all hold up. My only real complaint is how it fits into the lore (spoilers for echoes btw). I'm not really expecting an entropy zero 2 levels of integration, but the epistle 3 ending is really odd.
The only other "complaint" I have is that there isn't more of it. Seriously, I would kill for an echoes 2 or at least another mod in the style of it

ALYX SPOILERS AHEAD:
I like to see that the original timeline of Half-Life ends at ep3 or epistle 3 but gman change that at ep2 so that way you can add this kind of mods to the "canon" even know.
So for me is like Gman saw how things were about to end at ep3 and he thought that it is better to do a change and BOOM Alyx happened and for example there you have EZ2 endings with the timeline already changed. Do I explain myselft in a good way?
The best one ever, i just play the game right before i finish the half life 1. i need to say it, i think the mod campaign are way 2 ******* better than the original. you did and your team did a really good work.

So since Valve Updated Half Life 1 the mod rendered an error on start so it needs an update too sooo yeaa....
I had the same problem, and managed to fix it by rolling back to the previous version of the game. Try this:
Right click Half-Life in your Steam library.
Properties > Beta > Beta Participation: Select the pre-anniversary build
Close Window
Start the mod as normal.
