Installation

1. Install the game
2. Download archive
3. Unpack the downloaded archive with file replacement to the game folder
   A more advanced source port Ironwail with additional features.

Game Launch

• Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable is required to run

To be more consistent with the original you need to: create a shortcut to the game"s executable file → right-click → select the "Properties" item → in the appeared window in the "Object" field at the end of the line after the space type the launch option: -fitz

Multiplayer

To play on the Internet, select in the game main menu: Multiplayer → Join a Game → TCP/IP → Search for public games...

You can also open a website with a server list, then copy the server address, go to the game and type in the command line: connect paste_the_address

Custom Content

Download the additional fifth episode from the Machine Games Company, released on the 20th anniversary of the game here. Download custom modifications and maps on the Quaddicted website. The cut content from the original game is available for download here.

Installation process

1. Move the folder with custom content to the game directory.
   Maps can also be moved to a subdirectory: id1\maps
2. Create a shortcut to the game"s executable file → right-click → select "Properties" → in the appeared window in the "Object" field at the end of the line after the space type the needed launch option from the list below:
   -game mod_folder_name to run modifications
   +map name +skill 0-3 (easy-nightmare) to launch maps from the "maps" folder
   -game map(s)_folder_name +map name +skill 0-3 (easy-nightmare) to launch maps from a separate folder
   You can also type the launch option in the "Quake.bat" file using a text editor:
   vkQuake.exe required_launch_options
