Volleybomb is a Duel minigame found in Mario Party Advance. It is based on the sport volleyball, on which the minigame's name is a pun.

When playing in the Shroom City mode, the player faces Salvo in this minigame on the second floor of Duel Tower.

Gameplay[edit]

Princess Peach

Both players have three lives and attempt to use hammers to knock the Bob-omb at each other to defeat the opponent and make them lose a life. The player can either hammer the Bob-omb from the ground at an arc or spike the Bob-omb by jumping and hammering at it. If the player misses the Bob-omb with their hammer, it detonates on the ground, causing them to lose a life. Additionally, the Bob-omb may also explode on its own after a while; the player whose side it is on when it explodes loses a life. Eliminating the opponent results in victory.

Trivia[edit]

  • Certain COM opponents have their own tactics. If the opponent is Peach, she acts calm in the first two rounds, but in the third round, she moves and jumps around constantly. Luigi is the opposite, aggressive in the first two rounds, then calm in the third round.
  • The Bob-omb is always set to explode on the 16th hit, guaranteeing that the non-serving player will get exploded if a double hit is not achieved.
