Description | |
"You know that thing your mom's always nagging you to use? This is what it looks like." | |
First appearance | Paper Mario: Sticker Star (2012) |
- “This mechanical thing appears to exist for one purpose: to consume anything within reach. While not necessarily alive, it is most certainly hungry.”
- —Sticker Museum plaque, Paper Mario: Sticker Star
The Vacuum is a Thing in Paper Mario: Sticker Star. It is found on the second floor of the warehouse at Surfshine Harbor. Mario must first paperize and fix the direction of the warehouse door to access it. It remains in Mario's Album until it is turned into a sticker at a Sling-a-Thing station. Once it has been used as a sticker, it returns to its original position. It can also be purchased from the Shady Toad for 120 coins and sold as a sticker for 20 coins.
When it is used in battle, it hops onscreen and moves its hose. It sucks in every enemy one at a time except for those that anchor to the ground such as Piranha Plants. Instead, they remain on the ground and take less damage. After, the Vacuum opens its lid and releases the enemies. The player can repeatedly press as the enemies are sucked in to increase the damage dealt.
The Vacuum is needed to clear the sandstorm in the Damp Oasis. Mario must paperize near the whirlwind and stick the Vacuum in the paperization zone as indicated by a rock that has an outlet. After placing it, it begins to clear the sandstorm and sucks in the Comet Piece. It turns the whirlwind into bridge connecting to the oasis. After, it releases the Comet Piece and rolls offscreen.
The Vacuum can be placed into the Sticker Museum as #10, alongside other suction-based Things.
