Name?

Do you think those fireball enemies from Donkey Kong have an official name? It would be really cool to find a souce that names the different enemies from the original Donkey Kong series (if they even have names). --Son of Suns

They may actually be Podoboos (which also makes them the first enemy in the marioverse).--Spike

Well, the Fireballs in DK look similar to the ones in Mario Bros. (the Mario Bros. ones lack eyes, though). Podoboos seem to be different. I don't think the ones in DK have a name.

The Lava Bubbles are identical to the enemies seen in Donkey Kong. They're not Podoboos in Donkey Kong, Podoboos are shaped differently, and they're not generic Fireballs, because the ones in DK have eyes. That doesn't mean they are the same. They actually resemble Sparkys from Super Mario RPG more than Lava Bubbles. Lava Bubbles have yellow eyes while Sparkies have black eyes, just like the enemy from Donkey Kong. Unless an official name is discovered, we should probably create a seperate article for this fireball enemy (or reintroduce it into this article). -- Son of Suns

I have already moved the info back here. Fireball would not be a very good name for this enemy, because there already is an enemy named Fireball from Super Mario RPG. I made up the names for Octo and Octopota. Perhaps another simple but helpful name could be used for these enemies, maybe Petro (as they come from oil barrels). Or simply Fireball (Donkey Kong). Someone should go through some FAQs to see what others are calling these creatures. -- Son of Suns

I doubt that they're named, because in 1981, I don't think they would've been acknowledged at all; just Pauline, Jumpman, and DK. I'll make an article, Fireball (Donkey Kong) and give it the conjecture template.Waluigi Freak 99 19:16, 26 September 2006 (EDT)
