Starlow, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story

The star menu is a menu that first appeared in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story and its 3DS remake, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story Bowser Jr.'s Journey, replacing Stuffwell from Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time and the suitcase from Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. Here, the player can select a total of six options aligned by stars (hence the menu's name), view the amount of coins they currently have, view the current play time (this is not present in the remake), and, when it becomes available, the badge meter. In the remake, the player can also check the settings to switch between Normal and Easy Mode.

The star menu is accessed by pressing Start Button. Starlow explains how to use it once the player frees Luigi in the Trash Pit and defeats the two Goombules right after freeing him, and runs it afterward throughout the rest of the game.

A similar menu appears in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team and Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam; they are not referred to as the "star menu" in those games, however, only being referred to as "menu".
