Mayor Schmutznikov is a character in the PC version of Mario is Missing!. He is the game's fictional mayor of Moscow. Like the other mayors, Schmutznikov contacts Luigi via videophone first upon his arrival in the city and again once every artifact of the city has been recovered. Later in the game, newspaper article in Kathmandu describes him meeting with Mayor Smallburg, Mayor Devotegetter, and the mayor of Marrakech in Montana as "The 'M' Club".

In the European CD-ROM versions, like all mayors, Schmutznikov's appearance changes every time the player starts a new game or resumes the saved file.

Quotes[edit]

  • Welcome, Brooklyn! Mayor Schmutznikov here. Look around you, all the stuff worth a ticket of admission is missing. Check the newspaper I sent to your notebook computer, you'll see what I mean. I hear that Koopas are behind it. The police don't have much on these guys except that they're small and shrewd and very, very slow. Can you retrieve the goods?
  • Luigi. You've saved our city from the Koopas, and the people are grateful. Thank you, good luck and good bye! And say hi to Mario when you find him!
