Latest appearance | Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Nintendo Switch) (2024) |
Variant of | Pider |
Arantulas are black spider-like creatures in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and its Nintendo Switch remake. They only appear deep within the Pit of 100 Trials. Arantulas are much stronger relatives of Piders, and are even named similarly: the Pider's name is "spider" without the "S", and Arantula comes from "tarantula", without the "T". They attack in much the same way that Piders do; however, their spit hits harder, and the way they perform the three-spit attack is different: they fire one ball of normal speed, one slower ball in a high arc, and a much faster ball at a low angle, making it trickier to guard against all three.

Tattle | That's an Arantula. It's a spiderlike creature that lives deep underground. Max HP is 16, Attack is 7, and Defense is 0. Yeah... It's pretty tough. It'll spit web-wads at you. Sometimes it even attacks several times in a row. That coloring freaks me out. ...I'm kinda scared of spiders. So let's do this quickly!! |
