About us

Our Mission is to improve the health of people using approaches based in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Economics, and Behavioral Science through Research, Educational Programs, Clinical Programs, Public Service, and Policy Development. The UC Davis Department of Public Health Sciences is a Department of UC Davis Health - School of Medicine and is comprised of 5 Divisions, 5 research centers, and numerous large research programs. Biostatistics - supports basic and clinical research in the School of Medicine and conducts research on biostatistical methodology. Environmental and Occupational Health - conducts research on environmental and occupational health encompassing multidisciplinary areas including occupational and environmental medicine, exposure assessment, toxicology and epidemiology. Epidemiology - conducts population-based research to extend knowledge about promoting and improving health and well-being and preventing disease, developmental disorders and injury. Health Informatics - is highly interdisciplinary and designed to provide the skills, experiences and preparation for students to excel in positions in health care, leadership or research. Health Policy and Management - is the academic home for multidisciplinary research that examines the use, costs, quality, accessibility, delivery, organization, financing, and outcomes of healthcare.
