"For 20 years, I helped to run a golf tournament that raised funds for cancer care and research through Jimmy Fund Golf. After running our event to honor friends and family facing a cancer diagnosis, I am now a patient at Dana-Farber. Never did I think I would need the services of the same organization that I was fundraising for all those years, and the passion and care I have received from my medical team are second to none. I have met so many amazing people since I became involved with this community, and the experiences and friendships I’ve made as a part of Dana-Farber will be with me for the rest of my life!” – Dennis, Dana-Farber patient and Jimmy Fund Golf tournament director Through Jimmy Fund Golf, golfers across the United States are helping to make an impact in the lives of current and future patients at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Jimmy Fund Golf presented by Mohegan Sun is proudly sponsored in part by '47 and The Cape Club of Sharon. #JimmyFundGolf

In summer 2022, Meghan, then just 26, was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer. Since then, she has visited the hospital regularly, depending on experts at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to guide her through her treatment. After nearly two years of treatment, Meghan received an exciting opportunity that would help take her mind off cancer and away from the hospital: a trip to the Boston Red Sox Women’s Fantasy Camp. “As a Red Sox fan growing up, it was a truly special experience,” she shares. Wearing number 11, she says she felt just like Rafael Devers out on the field. Important moments like these, when families impacted by a cancer diagnosis can enjoy life despite their treatment, are made possible thanks to your generous support of events like the WEEI Sports Radio Network/NESN Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon presented by Arbella Insurance Group. https://lnkd.in/ebBQsgSZ

“When I was a teenager, I was treated in Dana-Farber's Jimmy Fund Clinic and underwent a bone marrow transplant during my sophomore year of college. My own cancer experience and the incredible care I received at Dana-Farber inspired me to help other patients on their cancer journeys. I’m now a nurse practitioner in the Jimmy Fund Clinic where I take care of kids and young adults with solid tumors.” “In 2022, shortly after running my first Falmouth Road Race, the unimaginable happened. I was diagnosed with cancer once again. This time, it was breast cancer. I underwent chemotherapy, two surgeries, and 30 days of radiation. As a young wife and mom, I was terrified. But just like my first experience all those years ago, my care team had a plan for me and provided wisdom and support.” “Having been on both sides of the infusion chair, I know firsthand that Dana-Farber supports patients both emotionally and physically on the road back to themselves. In fact, part of what makes Dana-Farber so special is the amazing staff. We always strive to find ways to see the light in each person who comes through our doors, outside of their cancer diagnosis. This August, I’ll be running alongside my husband, for my family, and for my own patients who show me the true meaning of strength each day.”- Amber, a Dana-Farber patient, nurse practitioner, and returning #FalmouthRoadRace runner

Today, the Pan-Mass Challenge surpassed $28 million raised so far this year, bringing our fundraising total since 1980 to $1 billion for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. PMC Founder and Executive Director, Billy Starr, wrote a letter to the PMC community to congratulate everyone who has been part of this extraordinary achievement. Now that the PMC has raised $1 billion, Billy wrote that "it is on to the second billion to be accentuated by a record goal and gift (I hope) of $75 million for 2024."
