During their annual symposium, they showed off their poster presentations about STEM topics, artwork, songwriting and their future college choices. Nationwide Children’s Hospital recently received the Partnership Award from the Appalachian Children Coalition for advancing quality care and support for children in the Appalachian Ohio region. Back in 2020, Nationwide Children's Hospital, in partnership with United Way of Central Ohio, launched its first tax clinic and helped 54 families complete tax returns. This year, the team helped over 1000 families that saved a total of nearly $1.8 million in tax refunds. A critical part of reducing child mortality is preventing unintended injuries. Earlier this month, the behavioral health staff at Nationwide Children's Hospital hosted the Ohio Youth Suicide Prevention Collaborative Retreat with teams from six Ohio children’s hospitals. The day included programming on suicide prevention focused on collective efforts and speakers from OhioMAS, Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation, LOSS Community Services, and Zero Suicide Institute. #BehavioralHealth #MentalHealth #SuicidePrevention
