🌉🔩 Technical Note Spotlight 🔩🌉 This week, we turn our attention to a Bridge Engineering study titled "Static Push-Out Tests on 29 mm Diameter Shear Studs." This technical paper, authored by a team of esteemed researchers including Xianjue Deng, Michael Engelhardt, Todd Helwig, Eric Williamson, Lu Wan, and Yucel Alp, explores the benefits of incorporating more oversized, 29 mm-diameter shear studs in the construction of composite steel bridges. By conducting 11 push-out tests, the study evaluates these studs' static strength and compliance with US bridge design standards.
