Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) colleague, Christina Travers, and I spent several days on the ancestral territory of the Lenape people with old and new friends. We explored the importance of identity, history, voice, examination, and collaboration. Many thanks to Ty “Dancing Wolf” Ellis and his beautiful clan from the Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape Tribal Nation for sharing their hospitality, history, and current stories through discussion and dance. Special thanks to Rose Stuckey Kirk for her vision and leadership, and to the Verizon team and meeting facilitators for creating the time and space to advance our individual and collective understanding of equity and economic prosperity.
