Rigaku Semiconductor Metrology applications and development staff were honored as coauthors of the keynote presentation, “Contamination Monitoring on Photomask Substrates,” at the 26th annual Surface Preparation and Cleaning Conference (SPCC) April 24, 2024 in Phoenix, Az. Sergey Mezhenny, Ph.D., Photomask Technology Development Engineer at Intel Mask Operations in Santa Clara, CA, gave the presentation describing results from the two-year collaboration with Rigaku to develop applications to meet photo-lithography mask contamination monitoring required to support developing technologies. Rigaku Americas applications scientist Meredith Beebe and principle metrology engineer Ben Buford worked closely with Sergey’s team to develop new applications for the Rigaku TXRF310Fab Photomask at Intel’s Santa Clara facility in conjunction with programmatic technical support from Markus Kuhn, and Rigaku Japan’s factory team led by Hiroshi Kohno, NAKANISHI MOTOHIRO, and Shinya Kikuta. #SPCC #SurfacePreparation #SemiconductorMetrology #TXRF #Photomask #Intel #Rigaku

Christian Reimann - Fraunhofer IISB Theme: Ensuring SiC's phenomenal success 🎤 Industry ready detection of TSDs and BPDs in SiC wafers The Center of Expertise for X-ray topography (XRT) is introduced, a collaboration between the metrology tool manufacturer Rigaku and Fraunhofer IISB. The achievements in the field of SiC defect detection on full wafer scale with XRT will be presented: First the detection of threading screw dislocation (TSD) as highly reproducible and reliable measurement is shown, and second, we will introduce FastBPD detection: High-speed full wafer BPD density mapping, taking only 5 minutes for a 150mm wafer to complete. Technical supports offered by RCTW underscores the company's dedication to better serve its Taiwanese customers and strengthen collaborative efforts in semiconductor development with strategic foundry and high-volume production fabs, and other critical sectors like Biotech, Pharmaceutical, Chemistry, Universities and Academic industries. Dr. Kiyoshi Ogata, Senior Executive Vice President and General Manager of Rigaku Corporation, emphasizes, "Rigaku has been serving semiconductor customers in Taiwan for many years. With the new fast-paced technology innovations, the need to work side by side with customers is ever greater."
