United Nations Association of the United States of America is one of our sustainability council members. Their group focuses on influencing policies that shape our future. The United Nations Association of the USA (UNA-USA) provides a unique platform where each of us can share our voice and advocate for policies that align with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 🗣️ Through their advocacy efforts, UNA-USA is committed to ensuring the United States remains engaged in global cooperation. Whether it’s combating climate change, supporting human rights, or advancing sustainable development, there are many ways to get involved in policy advocacy. ✅ Interested in taking action? We are beyond grateful for the success of our first annual launch! This milestone event brought together internal partners from Wayne State University & University of Windsor , external community partners, and undergraduates from WSU and U of Windsor, along with high school students from across the Metro Detroit area as part of our new High School Sustainability Network. The day kicked off with an introductory talk about the RCE and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), setting the stage for our mission of collective impact. Attendees then participated in breakout rooms where partners discussed innovative strategies and collaborations to advance these global goals. A big thank you to everyone involved including both Provosts Laurie Lauzon Clabo & Robert Agurrie. We look forward to continuing this momentum toward building a more sustainable future together!
