Today, on National Indigenous Peoples Day, we pause to honour and celebrate the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Indigenous communities. This day is more than a recognition—it is a call to action for each of us to acknowledge the deep connections and invaluable wisdom that Indigenous peoples bring to our societies. The Quadra Mining and Reagent Services team delivered a #YouBeTheChemist session to Big Grassy First Nation and Big Island First Nation Youth at Pegamigaabo School in alignment with Elder and First Nation leadership. Since March 2017, Quadra’s business agreement with Big Grassy First Nation funded by New Gold Inc.’s Rainy River mine project uses a grassroots approach to an enhanced awareness and understanding of the opportunities to support social and economic development in Indigenous communities. Through shared benefit agreements and capacity-building initiatives in education and infrastructure, Quadra aims to promote and strengthen the participation of Indigenous Peoples in the industries we serve. June is National Indigenous History Month in Canada, where we recognize and celebrate Indigenous people's history, heritage, resilience, diversity, and contributions. Quadra aims to build business partnerships that support our customers in the resource industry while continuing to share the journey with indigenous participation, as part of the evolving importance of Quadra’s Indigenous Inclusion Program. Quadra is an active member of the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB), and the Mining Association of Canada’s Indigenous Relations Committee.
