🤖 Cobots are pretty good at their jobs. Compared to conventional robots they're easy to install, easy to train, and easy to move around a facility. Where it still gets tricky, though, is figuring out how that cobot is going to interact with its environment. How will it "talk" to the CNC machining center, the molding press, the 3D printer? And how, physically, will it interact with the parts and equipment needed to do its job? At NPE: The Plastics Show this year, I had a chance to talk with Universal Robots about cobot integration and how 3D printed tooling can help. EMI Corp in the same booth had a demonstration showing off various 3D printed accessories that could enable a cobot to perform a sprue-removal step. Check it out at the video in the comments. 👇 ❔ What other robot tooling applications have you seen for 3D printing? Personally I've seen 3D printed grippers, part chutes, even a cobot using a stylus to interact with a touchscreen (CAPTCHA can only protect us for so long...) #AdditiveManufacturing #3DPrinting #Cobots #NPE2024
