In the spirit of improving lives and giving back, Norriseal-Wellmark went above and beyond to support our employees and their families after Hurricane Beryl. Our leadership team and employee volunteers quickly organized immediate relief for Houston area employees by opening the NSWM facility as a cooling station for employees, their families, and pets. They also prepared daily lunches and snack bags, lit up the grill for take-home meals, and provided water, ice, and Visa gift cards to use for gas, food, or other essentials. Many, many thanks to a great team. 𝐖𝐎𝐖! 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐞 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐚𝐭 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐥-𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤! The festivities kicked off on Monday, June 10, and continued through Saturday, June 16. Here’s a recap of the events that took place: 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟏𝟎: • Opening Ceremony • Kick-off Breakfast • Wall of Champions Reveal • Mission Blue Scavenger Hunt • Employee Thank You Cards The Mission Blue Scavenger Hunt was a huge team-building success and the competition was fierce! Sixteen teams, each appointed a team leader, received a riddle and clue each morning for five consecutive days. The task was to solve the riddle and locate the item as a team. Once the item was found, each team had to take a photo with it, ensuring all team members were in the picture, and submit it by 4 pm each day. The team with the most correct answers and team photo submissions was declared the winner. In the case of a tie, which happened this past week, a playoff was held this Monday. Neither team was able to solve the riddle, so both teams were declared winners! 𝐓𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟏𝟏: • Sweets and Games Day • Color a Smile Volunteer Session The breakroom was decorated and adorned with candy, a popcorn machine and games, including puzzles, ping pong and a table dedicated to Color a Smile, a nonprofit organization that distributes cheerful drawings to senior citizens, our troops overseas and anyone in need of a smile. 𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟏𝟐: • Diversity Day featuring four ERG breakout sessions • Ice Cream Sundae Bar Employees were encouraged to attend at least one ERG session which included topics on Diversity and Inclusion and Unconscious Bias in the workplace. 𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟏𝟑: • Health & Wellness Day • Fidelity presentation • Vitality: Summer Wellness Program presentation 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟏𝟒: • Closing Ceremony recapping the weeks activities • Hot Dog Cookout 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟏𝟓: • Astros Game with employees and their families A huge shout-out to the NSWM HR team—Kelly McKinney, Blanca Gonzalez, and Deborah Bright—for all your work on creating the fun and caring daily activities for this event. Celebrating Our Commitment to Community Service Today we are recognizing Norriseal-Wellmark employees from our Texas facilities that joined hands to give back to their communities through the Days of Improving Lives initiative kicked off by parent company, ChampionX. Over the past few weeks, our teams have gone above and beyond to make a positive impact. During Memorial Day, the NSWM Houston facility honored veterans by hosting an event in collaboration with Flags for Fallen Vets. On the weekend, employees volunteered to place and pick up flags on the graves of fallen veterans at the Houston National Cemetery. A special thank you to Kelly McKinney (HR Manager) for leading this initiative and to our team of volunteers for showing up during the steamy hot holiday weekend. Last week, a team from our Odessa facility volunteered at the West Texas Food Bank, dedicating their time and energy to prepping cabbage for meals! The West Texas Food Bank serves 19 counties, including Brewster and Pecos counties, the two largest counties in the state. Meanwhile, back in Houston, two teams volunteered at the West Houston Assistance Ministries (WHAM), packing and distributing food. One crew stepped it up, working together and staying engaged even as the weather turned bad. They continued loading cars in the rain until they were advised of lightning nearby, so they had to stop around car 120. Not to be deterred, our volunteers went inside and helped prepare for the next event. Thank you to everyone who volunteered! We are immensely proud of our employees' commitment to making a difference.
