Announcing the Tyron Garner Memorial Scholarship fund - a restricted fund created by the Black LGBTQ Legal Professionals’ Caucus (a joint endeavor of the National LGBTQ Bar and the National Bar Association’s LGBTQ Division). This scholarship honors the legacy of Tyron Garner, who was represented by Lambda Legal in the landmark 2003 U.S. Supreme Court case of Lawrence v. Texas, which struck down sodomy laws in all 13 states in which they still remained. Funds raised between December 1, 2023 and April 1, 2024 will support one or more Black LGBTQ law student(s) enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school with a $2500 one-time scholarship. The winner(s) will be selected by a committee of Caucus member lawyers. Donations to this fund are 100% tax-deductible and 100% of donations will be used for scholarship funding. Learn more and donate today: https://lnkd.in/eBUwyWmF Eligible law students may apply here by midnight April 1, 2024: https://lnkd.in/eKQjA5Z9
