About us
The MRF Pace Foundation was established in 1987 to address the scarcity of quality fast bowlers in India at the time. In collaboration with the legendary Dennis Lillee, the foundation began its long and successful journey, which has contributed to the rise of some of the best fast bowlers India has ever seen. In 2012, Glenn McGrath, one of the world's most successful fast bowlers, took over from Dennis Lillee, continuing the rich legacy. Since its inception, the foundation has constantly evolved, featuring world-class infrastructure, facilities, coaches and trainers. With ties to international cricket boards, including Cricket Australia and England & Wales Cricket Board, the foundation provides exposure to global training methodologies. Fast-bowling greats like Javagal Srinath, Venkatesh Prasad, Zaheer Khan, Irfan Pathan and more, have emerged from the foundation over the years, representing India at the highest level of the sport. The MRF Pace Foundation embarked on a mission to uncover the next generation of fast bowling talent through the 'Ace of Pace' trials across Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Chennai. The trials attracted over 1000 aspiring bowlers, each nurturing dreams of leaving an indelible mark on the sport. The top 20 from each city competed in the finals in Chennai on 9th March, where Jaskaran Singh from Rajasthan (Sri Ganganagar), Mohd Izhar from Bihar (Birpur), and Muhammad Sarfraj from Ranchi (Jharkhand), all aged 20, proved their mettle and emerged victorious, earning them the opportunity to hone their skills under the guidance of the Foundation’s Director, the legendary fast bowler Glenn McGrath and Chief Coach M. Senthilnathan, at the MRF Pace Foundation. McGrath bore witness to the immense skill and praised the raw talent on display, highlighting India's vast potential in fast bowling. Rahul Mammen, Managing Director of MRF Limited, underscored the foundation's enduring commitment to nurturing fast bowling excellence in Indian cricket since its establishment in 1987, having groomed 15 international bowlers, including stars like Javagal Srinath, Irfan Pathan, Zaheer Khan, and Munaf Patel.
