    The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) and partners branched out to unveil a record-breaking $33.5 million in conservation grants from the Longleaf Landscape Stewardship Fund. These funds, supported by the Bezos Earth Fund and other key partners, will help restore and protect 8 million acres of longleaf pine habitats, benefiting various species and local communities. Read below to learn about the NFWF’s partners that helped make this possible! ⬇

    Some news we’re simply pining to share! 🌲 Today NFWF and partners announced a record-breaking $33.5 million in conservation grants from the Longleaf Landscape Stewardship Fund to safeguard some of the most biodiverse ecosystems in the world. These grants will help restore and protect longleaf pine habitats, supporting wildlife and the communities that depend on thriving forests. Thanks to the incredible support from the Bezos Earth Fund and other key partners, these grants will contribute to the America's Longleaf Restoration Initiative's goal to restore 8 million acres of this precious ecosystem, benefiting species like the gopher tortoise, red-cockaded woodpecker and eastern indigo snake.     Bausch Lomb, an American-Canadian eye health products company, recently released their 2023 Sustainability Impact Report. Among the various initiatives implemented, the building of their second combined heat and power (CHP) plant stands out. This plant is expected to generate an additional 3.3 megawatts of electricity when completed in 2024.
