Enhancing the productivity and technological performance of U.S. manufacturing.
About us
Since 1988, the Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) has worked to strengthen U.S. manufacturing. Our National Network of MEP Centers work directly with manufacturers and contribute to the growth of well-paying jobs, dynamic manufacturing communities, and American innovation and global competitiveness. NIST MEP is a public-private partnership with Centers in all 50 states and Puerto Rico dedicated to serving small and medium-sized manufacturers. Last year, MEP Centers interacted with 26,313 manufacturers, leading to $12.6 billion in sales, $1.7 billion in cost savings, $3.5 billion in new client investments, and helped create and retain more than 100,000 jobs.

The White House announced 12 regional technology hubs Tuesday, including one in New York spanning the I-90 corridor between Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse. The NY SMART I-Corridor Tech Hub was selected as one of 12 Tech Hub award winners in the nation, bringing a major $40 million in federal funding to further position upstate New York as a semiconductor center for the world. The funding award will focus on key areas including supply chains. Led by the University at Buffalo, this component aims to close gaps in the supply chain by making it easier for local firms to gain access to growth opportunities in the semiconductor industry. Federal funds will be allocated to scale capacity at three regional MEP Centers, increase visibility of new opportunities, track regional growth opportunities, and assist firms with access to capital for the growing semiconductor industry. #MEPNationalNetwork #SupplyChain Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eSaAjc7A

Today marks 55 years since Apollo 11 touched down on the Moon.
"The Eagle has landed." On July 20, 1969—55 years ago today—Apollo 11 touched down on the Moon. Later that day, @NASA astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first humans to walk on the lunar surface. Now, we've been living and working in space for more than 20 consecutive years—and we're getting ready to build a long-term presence at the Moon and send humans to Mars. In a significant move toward empowering women in advanced manufacturing and building a diverse Arizona workforce, Intel has partnered with Fresh Start Women's Foundation to recruit its first all-women cohort for the launch of its inaugural registered apprenticeship program for manufacturing facility technicians. This initiative underscores Fresh Start’s commitment to equipping women with the access, resources, and opportunities needed to achieve self-sufficiency and use their strength to thrive. It’s a five-year pilot program launched in collaboration with the Arizona Commerce Authority (Arizona Manufacturing Extension Partnership), the Phoenix Business and Workforce Development Board, the SEMI Foundation, Maricopa Community Colleges District, and Fresh Start Women’s Foundation. The goal is to train technicians, who upon completion of a yearlong program will immediately become full-time Intel employees at its Arizona site. Apprentices will also earn a certificate and college credit. #workforce #WomenInManufacturing https://lnkd.in/eyckiMgg
