Hoe ruim je struikelblokken uit de weg om aan de woonwijken van de toekomst te bouwen? 🏘 Dat is de hamvraag die de Community of Practice 'Stedelijke watergemeenschappen' aan boord neemt. ☔ Eén onderdeel van circulaire wijken is een collectief regenwatersysteem, zoals het innovatieve regenwaterproject ‘Slimme straat’ in Wiekevorst voorziet voor 33 woningen. 🗣 Geen betere plek voor Veerle van VITO-Vlakwa en Dries van DuCoop/Circular om hun eerste Community of Practice te hosten voor 30 geëngageerde deelnemers! 👏 Filip De Bonte en Philippe Segers van B-rain Connect netwerk, en Frederik Spiessens van Pidpa brachten een eerlijk verhaal over de collectieve regenwateropvang, -hergebruik en -infiltratie in een nieuwe woonwijk in Heist-op-den-Berg. 👷🏻♀️👀 Omdat de bovendekplaten er nog niet liggen, kregen deelnemers de bijzondere kans om het integrale systeem in de praktijk te bezichtigen. 🛒💧 Hemelwater wordt er gedeeld tussen de lokale Spar supermarkt en woningen. Het overschot kan dan weer maximaal infiltreren voor het lokale groen. ☘ Geen druppel gaat er verloren. Een collectieve pomp voert via een tweede circuit hemelwater naar de woningen. Nutsinfrastructuur zoals data en elektriciteit liggen bovenop het opvangsysteem en zijn zo eenvoudig toegankelijk via afneembare betonplaten voor latere aanpassingen en voor onderhoud. ✅ Geen breekwerk, en geen wirwar van kabels. Een aandachtspunt ❗ voor toekomstige projecten is werfopvolging. Ondanks een heel goede werfvoorbereiding, blijkt opvolging ter plaatse cruciaal. 💪 Na het bezoek, gingen we het gesprek aan in een workshop over collectieve regenwatersystemen. Want innovatieprojecten stoten vaak op dezelfde uitdagingen, die initiatieven vertragen of doen kelderen. 📉 🤼 ORGANISATIE - Hoe organiseer je het project? Wie neemt welke verantwoordelijkheid? Hoe betrek je stakeholders op de juiste manier? 💰 FINANCIERING - Hoe financier je het project? Wanneer is er een business case haalbaar? 👩🏻💻 TECHNOLOGIE – Tegen welke technologische drempels of onzekerheden lopen we aan? ⚖ WETGEVING - Hoe verzoen je innovatieve projecten met de huidige wetgeving? Het CoP-netwerk wil die terugkerende uitdagingen het hoofd bieden door vanuit praktijkcases actief na te denken en kennis te delen. Zo kunnen we stappen vooruitzetten om waterprojecten gemakkelijker uit te rollen. 🚀 Zin om deel te nemen aan een volgende Community of Practice? "Source-separating technologies could be a major puzzle part 🧩 for our future sustainable water treatment at Stockholm Vatten och Avfall". Loud and clear from Dan Fujii, strategic research lead at Stockholm water utility. "Equipping 20% of all newly built housing 🏘 with a system separating grey from black water in upcoming decades could relieve much pressure from the existing wastewater treatment system." Stockholm Water is managing the largest water production and treatment plant in the whole of Sweden. The plant of 300 000 m³ with close to 20 km of tunnels is completely undergroud, encapsulated in the rocky soil. Why? When the WWTP was built in the 1930s, it was more cost-effective to build in rock than above ground. Building underground also enabled the facility to be extended later, without using up valuable land. Stockholm's Royal Seaport district you see below is the largest city development site in the whole of Sweden. 👀⚓ By 2040 this brand new innovative area will house 10.000 inhabitants. 🏘 It will be implementing different decentral waste water systems offering benefits to that local society. That's what ANCHOR is all about: bringing added value to our communities! 💪 Offering sustainable water sources for households, industry and public spaces such as a swimming hall. 🏊♀️ Today and tomorrow the ANCHOR partnership is meeting up in the beautiful Stockholms stad to shape future waterwise city districts. Today we hosted multiple workshops to share expectations and experiences of grey water reuse systems 🚿 as well as vacuum toilets 🚽 and heat extraction from waste water.
