Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is gearing up for the busiest summer travel season ever! Last Friday, we saw more than 2.85 million airline passengers pass through security checkpoints, making it the fourth busiest day on record. As we head into #MemorialDay weekend, we're expecting nearly 3 million passengers next Friday. A big thank you to our airline, airport, and travel partners who joined us for our annual summer readiness press conference this week. Some airports are using the latest, greatest, and most innovative checkpoint technology that we hope to deploy at every airport in the coming years. This includes our CAT-2 machines, which confirms passenger identity with ID and an optional camera feature, that enhances security. Tell an Officer if you want the camera turned off. #2. Make sure you're packing with a bag that's empty from the start to ensure you don't have any prohibited items, guns, or other weapons. #3. Make sure you have a REAL ID! You'll need one to fly by May 7, 2025. #4. Have TSA PreCheck (you should)? Make sure your Known Traveler Number (KTN) is in your airline reservation/updated in all of your airline apps. #5.
