📢 New funding for marine energy! Our Water Power Technologies Office has opened an opportunity for up to $112.5 million in funding to advance the commercial readiness of wave energy technologies! This opportunity is designed to reduce risks for deployments, increase the potential for commercial adoption through longer-duration demonstrations (expected to last six months to two years), and offer additional benefits to help quickly advance wave energy converters. This includes the ability to identify and mature high-potential technologies, reduce financial risks for developers and incentivize investors, progress technologies at smaller scales while developing toward utility scale, and increase learning for installation, operations, and maintenance. Learn more and join us for an informational webinar on October 9! Concept papers are due on October 25. https://lnkd.in/exTCTUnz

Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) claims a Clean Energy Win! The SAF Grand Challenge: Tracking Metrics and Mid-2024 Dashboard launched this week. The dashboard summarizes actions and progress to help drive innovation and expand SAF production and use to sustainably power aircrafts and drastically increase good-paying American jobs in clean energy. Since the SAF Grand Challenge was announced in 2021, annual SAF production and imports have grown from 5 million gallons to 52 million gallons through the first six months of 2024. The Grand Challenge plans to produce and use 3 billion gallons of SAF in the United States by 2030, and we have a pathway to meet this target. Want to learn more about the SAF Dashboard?
