I don't often say this, but what I saw at today's E4 Experience in Anaheim genuinely made my jaw drop, particularly regarding some of the AI work that Microsoft has been keeping close to the vest for the past year or so. Much more when I get time to write, but combined with trends at the recent Appspace WOW24 in Phoenix, I can confidently say that worplaces and collaboration are about to see a generational shift. Frankly, we are edging closer (no browser pun intended) towards the kind of AGI that scifi has dreamed of for so long. But even the baby steps I saw today are just jaw-dropping. And the moment I get home I'm actually going to try this Copilot system that I had been avoiding (honestly I didn't understand what MS was building up to until today.) Of course, I cannot endorse or compliment anything until I have tried it personally, but if the next 1-2 years shapes up like the glimpse I saw today, workers everywhere are going to finally be able to turn from busywork to meaningful work in a real way. Anyway, I have a plane to catch, but I was so impressed with my last session that I had to don my lovely Exertis Almo event T-shirt. Kudos to Amanda Stewart for one of the best presentations I have seen all year. It was also a delight to see some friendly faces from my industry, including Brandy Alvarado-Miranda, Alesia Hendley, and Traci Schaefer – sorry to anyone I am forgetting! So far, attendees enjoyed #ProAV training from Gary Kayye💜 CTS, Tom Kehr, CTS-D, CTS-I, LEED Green Associate, Amanda Stewart, Rob Voorhees- CTS, CTP, CTNS, Dante 3, Todd Heberlein CTS, DMC-D, DSCE, Angus Yao, CTS-D, CTS-I & Kevan McDaniel. Sessions included the role of #AV in facilitating communication & inclusion for people with cognitive differences live lessons on how to understand & navigate CAD drawings, and much more.
