The Death Penalty Representation Project is thrilled to co-sponsor this webinar examining the implications of Grants Pass v. Johnson and its potential ramifications across various realms of constitutional and criminal law, including the death penalty. Join us next Tuesday, May 7th, from 1-2 p.m. ET for a review of the Grants Pass oral arguments and a discussion of how the Court’s decision could shape the constitution’s limits on criminal law. Our distinguished panel of legal scholars will explore both the immediate consequences that the Court’s decision could have for people experiencing homelessness and the potential ripple effects across the criminal justice system. Don't miss out on this important conversation! Click the link below to register and secure your spot. We hope to see you there!
On April 22, 2024, the Supreme Court of the United States heard oral arguments in Grants Pass v. Johnson, one of the most significant and impactful Supreme Court cases on the constitutional limits on cities’ ability to criminalize homelessness. Please join us for a webinar to debrief and review Grants Pass after the arguments. Legal scholars will provide key takeaways from the Supreme Court session, predictions about what to expect when the Court rules this summer, and the broader implications of this case. Special thanks to our co-sponsors: ABA Section of Civil Rights and Social Justice, ABA Center for Public Interest Law, ABA Criminal Justice Section, ABA Death Penalty Representation Project, and ABA Section on State and Local Government. https://lnkd.in/dPnUhdk6

Congratulations on another(!) incredible victory, and huge thanks for your steadfast dedication to seeking justice for your clients. Fredrikson's pro bono work sets an example that we can only hope others will follow and is a testament to the life-changing power of high quality representation in capital cases. We appreciate you for all that you do!
Taking on capital post-conviction cases can be difficult. They are expensive can last for a dozen years or more and can be emotionally draining. Fredrikson has taken seven cases in the past three decades, two of which are currently in the investigative stage. This case makes the third innocent individual we have represented who was either exonerated or has had his case vacated by the U.S. or State Supreme Court. I am so very proud of our team and firm for fighting for justice for those who need it. https://lnkd.in/gFkMw4Qa
