Su Teatro, a 52-year-old Chicano theater in Denver, will be expanding with the acquisition of the 4,404-square-foot “Blue Building” across the street from their location. 🎭 The expansion demonstrates the company’s commitment to maintain the neighborhood's cultural identity and present themselves firmly as a cultural hub. Through the Community Revitalization Grant, Colorado Creative Industries division of OEDIT provided support for this expansion. The Folk and Traditional Arts Project Grant is dedicated to celebrating, documenting, and preserving Colorado’s cultural heritage through folk and traditional arts. CHRAB, with the help of the National Historical Publications and Records Commission, is pleased to host a FREE archives workshop at the Southern Ute Cultural Center and Museum in Ignacio, Colorado on June 6 & 7! Day 1 (June 6) will begin at 8:30am and feature an Archives 101 session in the morning and a session on Archive Digitization in the afternoon. Lunch will be provided on Day 1. Day 2 (June 7) will begin at 8am and will present an opportunity for attendees to ask questions, ask for suggestions on any archival problems they may be facing, or even bring with them archival records that may need some extra help.
