Are you sure recruitment is the right career for you? Want to find out if it REALLY is? Read on...

  • So, people don't really know what we do day to day - even after doing research, recruitment seems to be one of the most secretive industries about what we actually do and how we do it.
  • The standard answer of "my understanding is that you find people jobs and place them in companies. It's fast paced and you get out what you put in" simply doesn't cut it.
  • Then at interview, you can't really explain, hand on heart, why recruitment is for you. Recruitment Consultancies invest an enormous amount of time and money (I mean thousands and thousands per month) in the Trainees they take on, so to say they are picky is an understatement, and so they should be. It's a very lucrative career requiring certain drivers, motivations, abilities and aptitude.
  • If you don't TRULY understand what we do and how we do it, how do you really know it's the career for you? Recruitment Consultancies will not "take a chance" with a potential Trainee Recruiter - it's way too costly on so many levels and is extremely disruptive to the team dynamic when a person leaves saying "thanks for the opportunity, but recruitment's just not for me".
