Are you inspired or motivated?

Here is the distinction for me in my experience that may serve you as well.

The source of motivation is the mind, the emotions. These are fluctuations and are in response to many factors happening in and out of the body. These are unreliable. When was the last time you felt motivated? How long did it last? How about the time before that? How about the time before that?

Inspiration comes from the essence of who you are, from deep within. It isn't about you, generally, it is about something larger than yourself. Whenever I have worked with people that inspire me it was because we weren't doing something for ourselves but out of a desire to create something of value for something larger than ourselves or for expansion of who we are. Our identities expanded and it was about who we became. It still is why I do what I do.

I invite you to look beyond the desire for motivation and empower yourself with inspiration. Allow yourself to open up to greater possibilities so the inspiration flows through you.

Inspiration is natural when you connect with nature while motivation that comes from videos, books, the controlled environment is fleeting and will not last when trying to create something impactful. When things get tough or boring, motivation doesn't cut it.

What inspires you? Who inspires you? What is one thing you can work towards or achieve that would make the biggest impact in your life?
