We are now 7 days from our upcoming 2017 Cancer Metastasis Symposium. There is still time to pre-register...

Please visit our website for detailed topics. The three Young Investigator and Trainee Awards for the best abstracts in their respective groups will be presented at the Special Award Session on Saturday, April 22. The Program is fully lined up with all the speakers in place with the theme of the Symposium to track the single cell in our body, that has become a mutant cell, which proliferates with resultant mutants being selected to become the fittest clone to spread through the lymphovascular system using the sentinel lymph node as the primary gateway to distant sites to cause devastation to the body. It is a journey that we have to understand from a molecular level so that it can be stopped before the mutants go awry.

Multiple cancer types will be presented to illustrate the importance of sentinel lymph nodes as a gateway to metastasis including:

  • melanoma
  • breast cancer
  • gynecological cancer
  • prostate cancer
  • upper and lower GI cancers

The 3 day Symposium is highlighted by several keynote presentations including:

  • Donald Morton Memorial Lecture by Charles Balch
  • Super Resolution Microscopy to Study Single Molecules within a Cell by Nobel Laureate W.E. Moerner
  • Molecuar Imaging of Cancer by Sam Gambhir
  • Immuno-Oncology by Jai Balkissoon

Multiple breakfast and lunch mini-symposia will include topics on genomic profiling, cancer biomarkers, neoantigens, microRNA, check point inhibition, circulating tumor cells, novel sentinel lymph node imaging, and unique role of stereotactic radiotherapy.

Furthermore, on Saturday, April 22, a special session is devoted to Patient Summit and Lymphedema Program to deal with the complication of lymphedema related to cancer treatment. Cancer patients, advocates, physicians, nurses, pharmaceutical companies...discussions will be fruitful and engaging! www.cancermetastasis.org
