Water Misting in Midland Railway Square Collaboration of PLACE Laboratory and ETC

Water Misting in Midland Railway Square Collaboration of PLACE Laboratory and ETC

The fogging water feature has been designed as an integrated element within the plaza. Two 130mm wide channel drains are aligned with the interpretive rail tracks to house the water and lighting infrastructure. The channel drain tie-in with the civil drainage scheme, which utilises Aco drains throughout the site and provide a secure, trafficable and robust housing for the water feature.

Colour & image changing slide (Gobo) projectors are installed along the central forecourt and water misting feature. These are integrated into the poles and projected onto the ground and vertical mist cloud to provide a unique and attractive lighting display at night.

balancing budgets between civic works , art and culture with the frail budget dedicated to helping the poor and marginalised is indeed a high wire act. I can appreciate that it will be a beautiful spot to be enjoyed by many and just maybe... it may provide a sense of place and connection for present and future communities.
