At Ascent Hospitality, we pride ourselves on having a talented pool of leadership at all our hotels, and today, I am excited to shine a spotlight on one of our stellar General Managers, Silvia Rojas. Leading the team at Threefoot Hotel - Meridian, a member of Tribute Portfolio by Marriott, Silvia exemplifies exceptional leadership and creativity in the hospitality industry.

 Silvia's journey in hospitality spans 15 years, having become a GM in her 20s at the young age of 28. Her passion for the diversity and dynamic nature of hospitality has fueled her successful career. Silvia’s innovative approach and unwavering commitment to excellence have not only propelled her team to new heights but also turned The ThreeFoot Hotel into a beloved destination for guests.

 Team Appreciation: A Fun and Vibrant Culture

 Silvia’s leadership style is as fun and hip as it is effective. Every year, she organizes a team appreciation event that’s anything but ordinary. This year, the celebration includes daily games during lunch breaks like balloon darts, bed making races, and hotel history trivia. It’s a time for fun, camaraderie, and lots of decorations!

 Silvia ensures her team feels valued with daily treats such as ice cream social hours, fresh fruit cups, healthy smoothies, and root beer floats—a nod to Marriott’s brand beginnings. These treats are served by Silvia and her management team, showing that leadership is about serving others. The festivities culminate in a special lunch where the team picks the menu, prepared by the hotel's chef, and paired with awards and recognitions. This year, karaoke lunch will add an extra layer of fun, along with jib jab videos for some light-hearted break time entertainment.

 Achievements and Innovations

 Silvia’s leadership has led to several remarkable achievements for The ThreeFoot Hotel:

 - Bonvoy Enrollment Goals:  The team exceeded their Bonvoy enrollment goals in the last wave and is maintaining excellent performance year-to-date.

- OTA Recognitions:  Frequently awarded as a favorite destination in Meridian by OTAs.

- Top 20% Brand Achievement:  The hotel ended the first quarter in the top 20% of the brand, finishing at an impressive number 12.

-GSS Growth:  Despite challenges like a gas leak, water outages, and AC failures, the hotel shows a 9% year-over-year growth in Guest Satisfaction Scores (GSS).

 Silvia’s team is currently engaged in a friendly competition to boost online review mentions, aiming to overcome the negative surveys from the gas leak incident. This initiative is part of Silvia's belief in always trying new ideas to improve performance and guest experience.
