SHL Celebrates Pride
As Pride month comes to a close and communities move on from pride celebrations, it’s important to remember that the LGBTQIA individuals whom we celebrated are still part of our daily lives. The need for those individuals to be able to live and be their authentic selves doesn’t end with the start of July. And it takes everyone to create the type of community or organization where that can happen. While we often look to policies and rules to create that for us, there is so much that can be done in the simple way that we interact with each other daily. Like working to use inclusive language in the emails we write, or learning people's preferred pronouns and using them. Whatever it is, we need to take time to reflect on how we can all be a part of working towards a more inclusive and authentic workplace.
This month's Editors Pick provides resources for you to peruse in light of ensuring you practice inclusivity for the LGBTQIA community throughout the rest of the year.
