The Road Ahead

We live in interesting times. The world around has, and is changing at breakneck speeds, reminding us all of the famous adage, “Change is the only constant”. These changes in turn are presenting numerous opportunities & challenges. We all have, and are still experiencing, changes on account of the pandemic, but then these changes, like all others, are compelling us to think of a new normal, a normal which challenges age old beliefs and presents new business models & opportunities; opportunities of a promising & brighter future.

As an entrepreneur, I have always focused on the glass that is half full, and not the other half which is empty. With this philosophy in mind, in every adversity I look for opportunities. Over the years I have jumpstarted a sound & viable business in Asset Life cycle management & recycle management. These businesses were incubated when “sustainability” was still a novel concept; a concept that aimed at a cleaner and clutter free world. These offerings have been well received by the market and our top line has grown exponentially over the last few years. We will close FY22-23 with top line of INR 600 crores and with margins that will put our competitors to shame. A sizeable portion of the profits are being ploughed back to incubate disruptive offerings; offerings that provide us a first mover advantage which in turn accelerates our growth momentum. We are committed & confident of establishing a UNICORN within by 2025.

While sustainability / recycling is the future, I do realize that technology is the backbone of any business operation. Adoption of latest technology assets not only facilitates efficient operations but also, more importantly facilitates an unparalleled user experience. With this vision in mind, I am keen to establish a start-up that will develop software offerings in the ‘sustainability’ space.  As on date, there are many generic offerings that are being force-fitted to accommodate the specific requirements of this industry segment. My intent is to build a focused offering, ground-up. This product will be incubated, nurtured and fine-tuned in our sister companies before being offered as a Configurable, Scalable & World class quality product to prospects.    

This firm will be established ground-up and I am scouting for associates/ partner who can work with me to realize my vision. I am committed to nurturing this organization from earnings from the core business. I am also looking to dilute my ownership to those who will be part of this journey. Partners/ Employees will therefore have the opportunity to develop a niche product, in a start-up eco-system, and yet not be bothered about the nuances of funding; funding that enables them to take care of their personal needs while the Go to market offering is being developed. I am confident that the offering will disrupt the market as and when it is released. I am in also a strong proponent of the “Servant leadership” management style. Consequently, Leaders/ Employees, like my other businesses, will have the autonomy to challenge “status-quo” to establish new benchmarks of employee engagement. I have always been a strong advocate of Vineet Nayyar’s thought process of “EMPLOYEE FIRST, CUSTOMERS SECOND”

I’m convinced that we are on the cusp of developing something special & will be delighted to have you as a part of the core team that helps realize this vision.
