Discover our seventh story with Davide Zanella, Flagship Boutique Director for IWC Schaffhausen, as he shares insights on his career journey thus far, as well as precious advice for leveraging a successful career.

How would you describe your career journey so far?

I am originally from Italy, where I was born and raised until the age of 18. Travelling around the world, I have lived in Paris, London, Spain, Switzerland, Mexico and the U.S.

Working for Richemont has been an amazing journey. When I joined back in 2014, I was completely new to the luxury industry. In fact, I was coming from the hospitality industry where I was in charge of teams of over 150 employees. As soon as I joined the sales team in Miami, it immediately was a success. After 6 months, I was promoted to Assistant Manager and then, I was offered the opportunity to move to the IWC flagship boutique in Los Angeles on Rodeo Drive, where I spent a year as Assistant Boutique Manager.

With a great support from the management, I could travel around all North America, including Canada, and contributed to the management and sales teams, improving their performances.

It was a fantastic learning experience that empowered me to grow even more both personally and professionally, and eventually allowed me to be promoted to the first IWC worldwide position, where I took care of all the VIP clients and high complications. Two of my greatest personal achievements were becoming #1 in sales in the U.S., and by the third year, being #1 in sales worldwide for IWC.

Upon those great successes, I was promoted Boutique Director at the IWC flagship in Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive. While managing the boutique, we set a sale record by achieving our budget 36 months in a row, grow business drastically, and create an amazing working environment where I cherish fantastic memories.

In 2021, a new opportunity came my way to move to Dubai, where I was offered the role of the Flagship Boutique Director at the Dubai Mall flagship. I have been working there for almost 3 years, and I am proud to say that we are currently the #1 worldwide performing IWC boutique.

I am very excited to be part of an amazing team and achieving so much together. Can’t wait to add more successes into my Richemont journey. What’s next?

The advice I would like to share, is to be passionate, hungry, curious, and never stop learning!
