  • Solar, wind, and storage are competing in price with fossil fuels. Due to this drastic decrease in price, we can deploy cleantech solutions much faster and cheaper. This quick production and distribution allow for efficient adoption.

Electrification Can Significantly Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions

  • 73% of greenhouse gas emissions are coming from energy: transportation, building materials, and industrial processes. Grid electrification can decrease these emissions by approximately 70 percent.

  • According to a report conducted by the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), urgent action is needed to avoid the catastrophic effects of global warming. We must limit our global temperature rise to 1.5-2 degrees Celsius or the detrimental effects could be irreversible by 2030. We must all work together, work quickly, and work smart to reverse these negative trends before it is too late. 

Increased Job Demand Due to Urgency

  • The challenges resulting from climate change also present opportunities, specifically in regards to economic development and job creation from the switch to decarbonization. In order to mitigate the detrimental effects of climate change, ClimateTech startups are acting fast. The increased scale of these technologies is directly correlated with hiring demands. According to Rewiring America in their Jobs Report, an aggressive national commitment to electrify all aspects of our economy would create up to 25 million good-paying American jobs over the next 15 years and 5 million sustained jobs by mid-century.
