Ready for your TED Talk?

Ready for your TED Talk?

Rather, more specifically, how to avoid procrastination when you are preparing a public presentation about your innovation. You're an entrepreneur, with ideas - big ones. Maybe, you hope to disrupt an entire industry or create a new one.

Indeed there is this matter of not just knowing your story, but telling it, in front of others. Thirty people, or 300.

TED Talks wants you to pitch to a live audience. A venture capital conference wants you to keynote. Or okay, maybe your local chamber of commerce has a small business symposium.

Public speaking is an opportunity. Never waste one.

Try this strategy, each time.

Think ahead to when your presentation is complete:

1. How do you want the audience to 'feel'?

2. What do you want them to 'do'?

Now, set out to create your story (stories always have a beginning, a middle, and an end) that will not only motivate but compel your audience to 'feel' and 'do' per your intentions.

And don't forget to have fun because you will begin receiving more speaking invitations!

I am thinking a TED talk: Disrupting death - one conversation at a time. We need to better plan for end-of-life
