Railroads Score in New National Ranking

U.S. Railroads (freight and passenger) scored a B in the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) quadrennial infrastructure report card – the highest grade of the 16 areas graded. Why should you care?

1.       This proves investments matter.

2.       It clearly dispels calls for re-regulation, which would shift freight to highways and lessen the industry’s ability to invest.

3.       Further progress can be aided through our pro-growth policy priorities – tax reform that makes the business rate more competitive and streamlined government processes that incentivize innovation – both of which would generate more capital to be invested into the network and equipment.

4.       The industry won’t stop working until it scores an A .

The railroad is America's bloodstream. It's good to know that the most essential part of our infrastructure is healthy.
