Say Hello to The Standard at Bloomington!

As the largest off-campus housing development in Bloomington, Indiana history, The Standard links three distinct buildings of varying heights on a uniquely sloped site. Internal circulation between the buildings occurs through elevated sky bridges at select locations that connect the structures together while allowing the overall buildings to appear independent. Pedestrians can also use an interconnected sidewalk system that links to the buildings as well as the adjacent pathways. With the overall design reflecting local Bloomington traditions using familiar materials in a relaxed and playful manner, The Standard at Bloomington catches the eye at every corner. Great work, all!

The Continental Featured in Texas Multifamily & Affordable Housing Business

The United States will need to construct 4.3 million new apartments by 2035 to meet the demand for housing, according to a study commissioned by the National Apartment Association and the National Multifamily Housing Council. Enter adaptive reuse projects, which offer a win-win scenario by breathing new life into distressed or obsolete properties while providing a partial solution to the nation’s rental housing crisis. One such example is The Continental in San Antonio, Texas where BKV Group with client Weston Urban are developing a 16-story mixed-use project that is converting the historic Continental Hotel into a 255-unit community with ground-level retail space. BKV's Senior Design Leader and Associate Partner, Ron Butler, was interviewed by Texas Multifamily & Affordable Housing Business about the project which you can read in full here: https://lnkd.in/g3Y6JD7N
