The aim of the project is to best interpret the purity of the Polestar brand, imagining the DNA of the brand in a generation of SUVs. The simplicity of the surfaces and the technicality of the details are the key points of this design, returning the concept of “Massive Opulence”.

The Shape – A Stately Sculpture

Emanuele began the style research trying to sculpt the body through sharp lines and full volumes, a language that in his opinion best interprets Polestar’s design. It was very important to find a balance between volumes and details to avoid a heavy design.

A lot of work was needed to find the right proportions. Having no reference as Polestar does not have an SUV on the market, Emanuele had to figure out how to obtain proportions to best express the brand’s DNA.

High belt line surrounding the whole car, generating the front and rear volumes; the greenhouse is low and fully glass-made, with hidden pillars to give the floating feeling of the spoiler; long wheelbase and short overhangs, prominent bumper and rocker in order to visually lighten the volume. Large and powerful shoulders for a sculptural, aggressive yet confident stance.

Last but not least, a word on graphics and details. Speaking of bumpers and rockers, Emanuele found it very interesting to use a material made by recycled plastic, simply because the Polestar brand is a pioneer towards a cleaner and greener world, and for this reason, recycled plastic was used to obtain polymers which are used as an iconic material for the brand. For the graphics, the aim was to give the confident look like the other Polestar vehicles and at the same time not to complicate them so as not to stifle the simplicity of the volumes. Sharp, technical details and subtle graphics that complete everything like jewels.
