Pipes & Cables in Railway Stations

Pipes & Cables in Railway Stations

When we're travelling by train we look around and see hundreds of cables running along the tracks, into platforms or remote buildings, into tunnels and bridges and through walls. We don't often stop to wonder "is that safe?" why would we?

The answer to that question is: Not always.

Whenever a cable or pipe passes through a wall or bulkhead the hole that is made for that transit requires sealing. Sealing from what and why? you may ask:

Sealing from Smoke, Fire, Water, Gas, Dust and Rats are just some of things we need to seal these transiting pipes and cables from to ensure safety for you.

Think about it for just a moment:

If we have two rooms and we cut a hole in a wall between Room A and Room B to put a cable through, so that you can get great Wifi service and a fire starts in Room A, the smoke, fire and toxins will spread to Room B via that hole, it's the natural course.

Sealing the hole with one of Roxtec's transit seals will prevent against this happening.

Roxtec can provide protection from a large range of threats and dangers and can design a bespoke solution for your project. We have approvals to work with London Underground and Network Rail.

We can work with you and your team of designers, contractors and installers to ensure a design that works, either bespoke design or off the shelf solutions.

Why not contact us to arrange one of our Lunch & Learn CPD seminars and see how we can help you to seal your world and protect against dangers in your rail infrastructure projects?
