Pedestrian Safety Becoming Design Standard

Pedestrian Safety Becoming Design Standard

Given the recent events here in the US and around the world, it is becoming more and more critical to have adequate designs for protecting pedestrians from vehicles. This is extremely difficult in large public gatherings, albeit not impossible, but it is also very important in parking facilities. Making sure that pedestrian areas, such as high-turnover storefronts where parking abuts the storefronts, pedestrian paths of travel, and gathering locations (elevator and stair lobbies), are protected from vehicular traffic is becoming standard design practice for parking facilities. Basic design principles and installations will save many injuries and lives, while not being all that cost prohibitive, especially when designed properly.
