A New Beginning

After a lot of agonizing, I’ve made the very difficult decision to leave the venture capital firm Accel. So where am I going next? The short answer: nowhere. The longer answer: I've been talking to different people about different ideas and I haven’t locked into any one thing yet. Some ideas sit squarely in the communications/marketing realm and some go beyond it. I’m going to take some time and more fully explore these opportunities.

Leaving behind a great gig at an elite firm for something so fuzzy takes me way outside my comfort zone. But I guess that’s the point. If you’ve had the misfortune of talking to me for too long, I probably babbled about how, at some point, you need to stop picking fruit and start planting some trees. Or more simply, keep striving to create some value.

That’s what I hope to do in this next chapter. We’ll see how it goes. See you out in the wild!

Wow. Well stated. Well thought. Any path you take will be the correct one, Grasshopper. You have seen the rainbow and now the color spectrum is in your hands. // Your inspiration and opportunities are waiting outside the walls (and any boundaries you or others place). A smile, an idea, a helping hand. All of these are change mechanisms . . . for yourself and others. Be the ball. LMK if you want any encouragement. You got this.
